Andrew

Andrew realised just a few minutes in to his first ever yoga class, that he had found a way of relating to his body that he had been sorely missing (quite literally) up until that point. That was 15 years ago and he remains incredibly grateful that yoga has been a part of his life since then. Beyond being a really great form of exercise, he views yoga as an embodied mindfulness practice that can ground us in the immediacy of our present experience, encouraging us to relate to ourselves and others with clarity, kindness and skill. He is a committed meditator who has spent time on silent, intensive retreats. He sees meditation and yoga as kindred disciplines that work on the whole of our being, helping us find more ease and joy within our own skin, and allowing our “best self” to show up more regularly in relationship to others and to the world around us. He trained as a teacher in vinyasa-flow but spent many years practicing a more hatha-oriented yoga. Sometimes we need stillness, sometimes we need to build strength and awareness, and sometimes we just need to get a sweat on and move, and so he seeks to honour the spectrum of possibilities in his classes, all underpinned by a clear anatomical focus and a spirit of genuine enquiry and care. He is driven to share the myriad of benefits of yoga and meditation, and to encourage others to practice, so he hopes to see you on the mat or cushion sometime soon!

Laurie

Laurie was first drawn to yoga over 15 years ago when she travelled to India. In yoga she found a sense of balance and harmony and a deep sense of grounding. Her practice is her guiding light through life, a way of finding balance and grounding, a space to reconnect and nourish. The thread of yoga has been a constant in her life and was a beautiful way to connect with her baby when pregnant, meet likeminded mama’s, nourish herself and prepare for birth and the journey to becoming a mother.
Laurie’s practice has grown over the years and she has trained in traditional Hatha yoga both in India and Spain, Pranaflow in London with Alessandra Peccorelli and more recently Pre and Postnatal yoga with the wonderful Alexa Dean. Laurie’s focus is on creating a nurturing space for her students to move and breathe in a more conscious way while bringing about a deep experience of relaxation.

Aylin

Aylin came to yoga a decade ago and ever since it has been a huge part of her journey back home to herself and to trusting her body. She initially did her 200hrs YTT in Ashtanga, a very physical style of Yoga. However, the more she connected to her inner self, she realised how much power lies in living in sync with our cycles and in softening.

She started practicing and teaching a much more gentle yet flowy style, focusing on cultivating a loving relationship with ourselves and others. She loves combining yoga with modern and ancient empowerment tools for us to remember that we are whole and that our power lies within. In her yoga classes, she likes to include singing mantras, reading a poem or saying affirmations. Alongside teaching yoga, her biggest joy is holding women’s circles, facilitating cacao ceremonies - finding our own rhythm in life and reconnecting with the elements, the moon, our cyclic nature and each other. For the past 7 years I have been sharing my passion for yoga in Berlin which was my home before I followed my heart to Cornwall.

Fran

Fran is a yoga teacher and advanced Reiki healer. Her teachings are heavily focused on the energy body and chakra system. She uniquely combines the many ancient Vedic practices of asana, Ayurveda, pranayama, mantra and meditation in her classes to help move stuck or stagnant energy, which will leave you feeling balanced and rejuvenated. Fran believes in a yoga accessible to all, yoga as a way of life, something we weave into every moment of our day. A yoga practice that can help cultivate presence, kindness to ourselves and others and to connect to your truth. So, expect to learn things that you will be able to take off your mat and practice on your own at home! Fran has always been fascinated with astrology and all things mystical since she was a little girl, but after a spiritual awakening during a deep meditation experience on a yoga retreat, her life has never been the same again. Since that moment the journey began. A deep exploration of all ancient practices; meditation, Ayurveda, reiki, yoga and yogic philosophy trainings, which combined with her knowledge of astrology, tarot and working with your intuition gives Fran’s classes a spiritual twist. Fran describes that these practices as having totally transformed the way she lives her life and lead her to being a yoga teacher and reiki healer. She is passionate about sharing them with others to help us navigate the waves of life and connect to our true selves. When not on her yoga mat you will find Fran happiest immersed in nature most probably on a beach with her feet in the sand and salt in her hair absorbing the elements, and she never goes anywhere without her tarot cards and favourite crystals!

Carrie

Carrie first became acquainted with yoga back when it was promoted in the media by Geri Halliwell circa 2003, as the world's best kept secret for staying fit! Carrie dipped in and out of yoga for years thinking she was missing something - she was! Travelling around the world as an au pair, with nothing but a rucksack and a few yoga books, Carrie began to search for inner peace from a life that seemed out of balance. Having already done a degree in Psychology, she started to become interested in the writings of Eckhart Tolle, Ram Dass and Gabor Mate, looking for ways she could apply spiritual practices and embodied approaches to her life in order to find peace and help to encourage others to do so.

Carrie likes to specialise in yin yoga - she really enjoys the parallels it has with jungian psychology and likes to teach from a functional point of view. Carrie likes to think of herself as a forever student of yoga, with a long road ahead of her and would be honoured to share the journey with anyone who would like to join her for the sweet, messy, humbling ride that it is.

Lizzy

Lizzy started the physical practice of yoga in 2015. Shortly after she went travelling for some years spending a lot of time in Krishna-conscious communities, Buddhist centres and ashrams - delving into the endless well of yoga. On her return to the UK she moved to Cornwall and completed her yoga teacher trainings.

The learnings from her studies weave together –  alongside her own practice, teachers & general life lessons to form her classes. You can expect plenty of moments to pause, look inward, see what’s going on there, and choose how you want to respond to that in your physical practice.

Her primary focus for each class is a reminder for herself – to know that you are all good, just a human, doing and feeling human things. You’ll probably hear one her poems during sivasana that reiterates just that.
